How 10 Most Popular Websites Are Displayed In IE 5

Back in the year, 1999 Microsoft released its brand new and up-to-date browser Internet Explorer 5. How much did happen in the last 14 years regarding web technologies and development? Would it still be possible to use this browser? Let’s find out!

Please note: We don’t want to judge, it’s perfectly reasonable that very few developers still maintain compatibility for this old browser as it is not really used anymore. Still, it’s fun to see the current web through the eyes of a 14-year-old browser. So let’s see how it goes:

www.amazon.com

www.bbc.co.uk

www.cnn.com

www.ebay.com

www.facebook.com

www.google.com

www.microsoft.com

www.stackoverflow.com

www.wikipedia.com

www.wordpress.com

As we can see some websites are still quite usable in IE 5. Especially static content and minimalist pages like Wikipedia and Google look quite good.
